Komoot

Komoot is a global route platform with hiking, cycling and mountain biking routes. You can plan your own routes or view and download existing ones. Naturally, our hiking and cycling routes are on Komoot, allowing you to prepare perfectly for your visit to the Maas Valley River Park. Komoot is also available as an app, allowing you to navigate our routes on your smartphone.

To save and navigate a route, first create a free profile on Komoot.nl or via the app (Android/Apple). Follow us on Komoot to view our routes, where you will find useful information such as route descriptions, distance, altitude, terrain and photos.

If you have found a route you like in our selection on Komoot, there are two options:

  • You can download the route as a GPX file. This GPX is a digital version of your route, which you can view on a walking/cycling GPS (e.g. Garmin) or on a smartphone. With a route app (e.g. RouteYou, Strava, Ranger, GPX viewer, etc.), you can then follow the route GPX during your walk (navigate). You can download the GPX file to your computer and then transfer it to your smartphone, open it with the route app, and start navigating.
  • It is even easier to use Komoot as a navigation app. You do not need to download GPX because our routes are already in Komoot. Simply click on the route/tour you want to walk/cycle, and Komoot will show the route on your phone and navigate you along the route.

However, to download the route and/or use the navigation, you need to “unlock a region”. This means that you purchase a digital map of a specific region in order to use these functions. RivierPark Maasvallei can be found in the “Limburg-Antwerp-Brabant-Brussels” region package. (Please note: this only includes the Limburg region in Belgium). This regional map costs a one-off fee of €8.99 and allows you to use all routes in this region for the rest of your life.

And it gets even better, because we are giving you a free region package! With the code, you can unlock the region package (‘Limburg-Antwerp-Brabant-Brussels’) for FREE, saving you 8,99 euro.
